hmmm i think there's two services here...the credit card companies have i believe outsourced a lot of customer service to india, as have many countries, hell directory enquiries for the UK comes out of mumbai i think!!

then you have the people employed for telesales...though why anyone would be employed to sell who couldn't communicate and did so at a level you describe chele, i don't understand...coz they're not gonna sell much!!!

i work with people who's first language isn't english, every day, and although i speak their language, english is our business language and we do require a certain level here at work, so i insist on english...

one of my favs....in china a few years back...in one of our hotels....during the soft opening, my assigned task was to test the waitresses in their order taking...i asked for a glass of white wine...they were trained to repeat the order...it came back as "wah wah"....in a strong putonghua accent *L*....it was so cute, a bunch of us used it for years later...fancy a wah wah?

accents...i just LOVE em!!!! all of em!!!!
